A General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) is three and half years diploma course offered by various prominent institutions in India. 

The Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) at Neelaveni Krishna School of Nursing is three years course recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi and affiliated to U.P. State Medical Faculty Lucknow. 

The course makes aspirants familiar with the ways through which they [gain] comprehensive management of women’s health care in a variety of settings focusing particularly on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. It also includes care of the newborn and the family planning and gynecological needs of women throughout the life cycle.
